Egypt: the new Iran. Psalm 83 war in sight.

If you are NOT old enough to remember what happened in Iran when the Shah was replaced with ayatollahs, you are getting a chance to see history repeat itself.

After a generation of stability between Egypt and Israel, Mubarak has been removed.  Like the Shah of Iran, he was not the type of guy you might want to invite to your wedding.  But let me suggest that the wacky and violent culture in the Middle Eastern Muslim nations obviously requires a heavier hand than is needful in the Western, more civil, nations.  Just imagine yourself trying to keep a lid on any of those hot-headed nations.  Now there is a power vacuum, and it is going to be filled very quickly. This time, the US is too over-extended to broker anything like a peaceful return to stability. It is likely that the current Administration has had a lot to do with the current situation and is pleased.

Egyptians killing Israeli POW’s in the last war

When the ripple started in Tunisia, it seemed small enough that no one was really concerned in the West.  After all, America has become all about “change”, right?  It seems politically correct to opine that change is always a good thing.  Now that Mubarak is gone, the huge nation of Egypt is in play.  Egypt has long been against the Muslim tide of active hostility with Israel.  While there is no love to lose, at least Egypt had learned to respect this little nation which God has blessed.  Trounced in the several wars of the 20th century, Egypt learned to leave its tiny neighbor alone.  Egypt got smashed in 1948 (Israeli Independence War), 1956, (Sinai War), 1967 (Six Day War), and in 1973 (Yom Kippur War).  Egyptians murdered Israeli soldiers who surrendered.    Since then, Mubarak played a significant role in the maintenance of non-violence between his nation and Israel.  Now he is gone and a new generation of Egyptians will soon learn to not attack the “apple of His eye”. To get a really quick overview of what has been happening in Israel over the last 100 years, see ConceptWizard and especially this link.

Sadat and Mubarak planning Yom Kippur attacks

Jan 20, 2011 marked the disturbance in the region starting with Tunisia.  Already, Lebanon was under Hezbollah and has been a satellite of Iran.  With Egypt in shambles, Jordan is ripe to fall.  Iran will put down its disturbances as it did in the last election.  Saudi Arabia will have a struggle as well, but will likely remain as it has because the people there are just not that unhappy with the status quo.  But Egypt has been a lynch pin for stability in the MidEast.  Now one concern is regarding who will control the Suez Canal where 8% of all international sea-going traffic flows.

The stage is set for what God foresaw and declared in Psalm 83. Israel today has no friends on its borders.  To the north is Lebanon under Hezbollah.  The East is Jordan which is another nation deeply “in play” politically and recently embattled with Israel.  To the West is the Med and southwest  is Gaza under Palestinian control by Hamas.  South is the Sinai under Egyptian control.   Today, with $ troubles all over the world, Israel has recently discovered the largest cache of natural gas in the history of the world.  YHVH said that He would bless his nation with ALL good things, and that includes $1,000,000,000,000 worth of fuel.  That’s a trillion $.  The mineral wealth of the Dead Sea is worth another $ trillion.  And Israel supplies a huge amount of citrus to Europe.  Everyone would like to have a slice of that pie.

The “Muslim Brotherhood” was established by a school teacher in the 1920’s.  The motto is simple:  “Allah is our goal; the prophet is our leader; the Qur’an is our law; and Jihad is our way. . . dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.”

a deadly Congo-line

The war which is described in Psalm 83 is on its way – a precedent for the huge war of Ezekiel 38-39.  The one big distinction is that Persia is not mentioned in the Psalm 83 War.  The players mentioned are Jordan (Edom, Moab, Amalek, and Ammon), Lebanon (Gebal and Tyre), the Palestinians (Philistia), the Arabs (Ishmaelites and Hagrites), Iraqi, Syrians, and Turks (Assyria) and Egypt.  Until this month, Egypt has been the only missing party to this war of mixed affiliations: Lebanon is a Shiite proxy for Iran, while the Muslim Brotherhood is a Sunni group — divided as they are, they are unified in their desire to erase Israel from the map.

“Sleeper” in America waiting to make a Change

Our strategic interests in this area are:  Israel, the Suez Canal, and oil.  We have 7 weeks of refined oil on the shelves.  We do get 2 million barrels of oil from Canada every day, but 1.5 million of that is first imported to Canada from the MidEast and NAfrica!  We have had a generation to prepare for what is coming since the first Arab oil embargo in the 70’s.  There is NO PLAN for the next one.  Oil is fungible and 99% of our transportation is based on oil.  We have no redundancy to replace oil.  Solar panels, windmills, and horse-drawn carts are not going to keep the West viable.

The Muslim Brotherhood – (the website is often shut down, but cached by Google)

According to the Muslim Brotherhood’s own website, their first objective when they obtain power in Egypt is to shut down the Suez Canal and hold the world hostage because of Israel.  The markets around the world are going to crash if this happens.  The pressure against Israel will be intense and Europe will not be helping Israel at all, but God will make certain that His people retain their national integrity.

In Jordan, the Brotherhood has organized demonstrations calling for “reform” within the existing government there, not to topple king Abdullah.  They want the prime minister and other high ranking officials to no longer be appointed by the king, but to be voted into office by popular, democratic elections.  While this seems to be a secular argument, once the Brotherhood gains more power there via these elections, they will quickly make a move for total Islamic rule, ala the Taliban in Afghanistan.

INFANTry

The Brotherhood was kicked out of Egypt in the 1950’s because it was correctly seen as a radical, destabilizing force in the region and was made illegal, just as America made the Communist party illegal at the same time.  Many of the members left for Europe and many were educated in Germany and the UK. Many were model citizens and took positions within the government of Germany and other European nations, having an increasing influence on those nations and their cultures.  These “sleepers” have maintained the image of being “moderates” and non-radical Muslims in these European nations, but the truth will be revealed soon that their radical Islamic world-view has been well-kept.

according to the Book

The Shah was overthrown by Muslim “students” –he was  seen as an American puppet.  Mubarak was seen the same way, receiving $1.4 billion from us every year to keep the peace.  As soon as the Shah fell, the revolution went hardcore Muslim theocracy and 100% anti-Western.  The same will occur in Egypt and Jordan.

An “extra” son for suicide bombing

In 2008, the Pew Research Center polled Egyptians and found the following:  82% of Egyptians supported the stoning of adulterers, half report a “favorable” view of the terrorist group Hamas, 64% support “Islamists” over “Modernizers”.  Only 16% believe that Al-Qaeda was responsible for the 9/11 attacks, most blame those attacks on — wait for it — Israel!  Well of course they do.  Egypt is just as “Persian bazaar” as the other Arab nations and now they are on the loose to run rabid — directed by Muslim fundamentalists.  Of the 80 million Egyptians, 90% live below the world‘s standard poverty line which is much lower than here in the US.  That is a lot of unhappy folks in one country.  With a high mortality rate, the largest demographic is under 30 years of age, and the median age is only 24 (!) — so they have not experienced the tragic results of fighting against Israel.  All media is run by the State — onlyAl Jazeera (which is Islamic propaganda) exists as an alternative to what the military establishment has been offering.  Yet, the Lord declares that He loves this nation, even when He is angry with Egypt.  Second only to Israel, Egypt is mentioned some 700 times in the OT.   In Isaiah 19, YHVH refers to Egypt as “my people”!

Mohamed ElBaradei is a stooge of Iran being groomed to take over Egypt — notice how Der Spiegel (German) gives him a favorable spin in this article.  He is a powerful enemy of Israel, being very shrewd and highly intelligent.  He speaks four languages fluently and has been “sainted” to lead the new government in Egypt.  During his tenure as head of the IAEA, he added his voice to the calls for the destruction of Israel as a nation and announced the soon coming of the Twelfth Imam to foster the new world order of Islamic control of the planet after the destruction of the US.  In 2009, he declared that the greatest threat to peace in the region was, of course, Israel.  The number two leader of al-Qaeda, Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, is Egyptian and was a leader of the Brotherhood before taking a higher role in al-Qaeda.  The looting on Cairo began on Friday when the Brotherhood began to co-opt the formerly peaceful demonstrations for economic reform.  Five days later, Egypt had no leadership and the vacuum will be filled very quickly with militant Islamists who hate Israel and the West.

Obama is the new Carter.  Like the imperfect Shah of Iran, the moderate Mubarak has been toppled and Egypt will be lost to the radicals.  Mubarak is proof to the world that an alliance with America is meaningless.

War is just around the corner and Israel will survive everything that can be thrown at her.

Isa 19:22-25 ESV – And the LORD will strike Egypt, striking and healing, and they will return to YHVH, and he will listen to their pleas for mercy and heal them. In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and Assyria will come into Egypt, and Egypt into Assyria, and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians. In that day Israel will be the third with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth, whom the LORD of hosts has blessed, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance.”

Now it seems that Bahrain is about to fall to the wackos, too.  This is the “happy” place where the US Navy keeps the entire 5th Fleet!  This is getting really serious, really fast!

  1. ‘Surfing in’ – does anyone Say That anymore?- when I did search for ‘Psalm 83 war’

“As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire, so persecute them with Thy tempest and make them with Thy storm.” (Psalms 83:15)

    • Yes. Amen.

who said, “Let us take possession for ourselves of the pastures of God.” O my God, make them like whirling dust, like chaff before the wind. As fire consumes the forest, as the flame sets the mountains ablaze, so may you pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your hurricane! Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek your name, O LORD. Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever; let them perish in disgrace, that they may know that you alone, whose name is the LORD, are the Most High over all the earth. – (Psa 83:12-18 ESV)
