Bleu Cheese Mousse for Steak and Seafood

I went to dinner with the wife last night and had steak and steamed mussels.  Fantastic.  Low-carb.    Something like this recipe was served with the steak and it was great.  Also good with the mussels, I thought.   

Bleu Cheese Mousse Ingredients  

4 oz. blue cheese with the rind removed  

1.5 oz cream cheese (room temp)  

1/2 tsp salt  

pinch black pepper  

1 fl oz heavy cream  





KitchenAide, $30

1. Using electric beaters, whip the cream cheese for 1 minute to soften it. 


2. Add blue cheese, salt, and black pepper to the cream cheese and continue mixing.  

3. In another clean bowl, whip the heavy cream to soft peaks — about 1 minute. Fold whipped cream into blue cheese mixture and refrigerate at least 1 hour.
